hello again,
I already have another question - does anyone know of a good place to buy manure on the north side of Dublin. I'd say our garden has been pretty neglected for years so it'll need plenty of nourishing manure,
thanks,

If you are looking for artificial granuale manure you can buy that in most garden centres and hardware stores. This will give your garden a quick boost but it will have no long lasting effect. You possibly require something like animal manure which will be of long term benefit to you garden.
I am not from dublin but I have seen FYM (farmyard manure) bagged for sale in all my local garden centres. If your garden is not too large then maybe you could go down that route. If there is a stables close by you could approch them also. Just make sure the manure is not so fresh (rotted preferably). Your local Dublin corparation green waste facility may also sell you a batch of the compost they create.
Your own homemade compost can also be dug into your soil as well as grass clippings, leaves, peat, uncoloured shredded paper etc.
Hope this is of some help |

Hi gnashers
We used to get horse manure from an equestrian centre near the airport.
Its on the old airport road, if you drive past airside retail park swords in the direction of the airport its on the left hand side. Think you have to bag it yourself
