Hi All,
We're just in the process of unearthing our garden which has been under gravel for years and I'm hoping to try grow a few veg this year, so I'm sure I'll be on a lot asking all kinds of questions!!
My first query is about strawberrys - I'd like to grow some this year, preferably in a pot as we're not sure yet of the long term layout of the garden. Does anyone have any tips? any good varities to try? are they easy to grow or should I wait till I have a bit more experience.
Also I bought a Cherry tree, on the spur of the moment, from Aldi last week - is it ok to keep that in a big pot for the first year or so, untill we've the best place for it. I think it was a Morello Cherry,
Thanks

Hello Gnashers, welcome to Irish gardeners. You should have no problem containing your cherry tree within a large pot for a year or so, just remember to keep it well watered. Pots dry out quickly. There is a great post by member SB on growing stawberries here http://www.gardenplansireland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=685
ENJOY! |
