I was once at a dinner party and there was a sea captain sitting opposite me. Between us was a vase of Dahlia flowers. I dared him to eat one. He wouldn't, so I ate one. Then he ate one, then I ate another, then he ate the next one and so on until all that was left in the vase were stalks!
The taste of Dahlias is the strongest taste known to mankind. Disgusting. Never mind. We downed a bottle of whisky between us to blot out the taste. He downed one glass, then I downed the next. So on, so forth, until the bottle was empty.
We both left the party that night full of Dahlia and Whisky. Those sea captains are tough! Don't remember having a hangover, either. _________________ .
