Is there much of a difference between planting seeds in a multipurpose compost or using a special one. Should it include fertiliser. one site says fertiliser is wasted on seeds. See

If using multipurpose instead of special mix would you need to add perliet/vermiculite etc |

just compost with grit mixed through it or vermiculite or perilite which allows air to circulate and stops the seed rotting if it is over watered, , the seed has all it requires in itself to germinate it just needs the soil to anchor it and allow the roots to absorb moisture by osmosis. |
