I have a fig tree outside which I bought this year. I want to keep it in a container. Is the trees fruit limited if it is in a pot? How and when do we prune it? How and when do we fertilise the potted tree? When and how do I root prune it? If I root prune it too much by an accident would the tree die? Just please tell me because I want my beloved fig tree to grow. ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS.

Don't prune it. If possible, create a box of slabs in the ground, which will allow much better water penetration to the root system while still constricting the roots. If you must containerise it, use water retaining gel granules, water twice a week, and use slow realease pellets and seaweed/nettle/comfrey liquid feed. |
