Browsing through an American Garden Forum this Morning I was somewhat amazed at the Intelligence or lack of that some People have...this Girl was telling Members of the Forum about the new House her Parents had bought...with 3 Acres of manicured Lawns...private Lake frontage...Orchards....Vineyards... Vegetable Plots...1,000's of Trees {her words} and numerous other items... sounded like a Fairy Tale Gardeners Dream...

Then she really proceeded to put her 2 size 13 Boots in it...1st Bloomer was that no one in the Family actually knew anything about Gardening but they wanted to keep the 3 Acres as they were...2nd Bloomer was the Family elected Her to oversee the Garden Maintenance and she knew even less than zilch...and the 3rd and biggest Bloomer was the audacity of her to ask Members for a few Tips to get her started....

I had no choice but to sign up and tell her to get a "Reality Check" as it turned out I was the 1st to reply to her Thread followed by another who agreed but suggested a "Tree" Book for her to study...

I dont know her age but she must be to long out in the Sun.

The Smilies are not to indicate Embarrassment but pure Rage at her nerve

I was expecting some response like that...Jealousy does not even enter this Thread and if you read the beginning you'd see the list of Areas in the 3 Acres that even a Professional Gardener would need all his Expertise to keep on top of and then this "Wannabe" comes along and nonchalantly wants a few quick Tips.

I know your Joking but we all have our pet hates and you've discovered one of mine....Its akin to you asking Einstein for a few tips on how to split the Atom...

i see nothing wrong with someone who is willing to admit they need advice - i'd say her problem is that she simply doesn't know the scale of the work ahead of her.

coming onto a garden forum to ask advice is far from showing audacity, in my book.

Sorry...buts thats where we differ...there is a vast difference between a common back Garden and 3 Acres...if she cannot tell the difference then there cant be any advice she would understand or take on board..

so we're just talking ignorance (in the lack of knowledge rather than rudeness sense) rather than audacity.

She had the nerve {audacity...cheek....same thing} to show her Ignorance....The point is anyone with average Intelligence would know her request was not a reasonable one and she was told that...

I think I understand Geranimojess' frustration with this kind of....well....stupidity...........no politically correct way to put it really. It's almost a disconnection with reality, probably as far as the entire family goes......you can't hand three acres of very established garden to a complete novice and ask her to maintain it. I presume the style of her post was what Geranimojess reacted to.

If I dont tell you....you can avoid it even longer...

Little update....checked out her Thread prior to this....suddenly her 3 Acres has shrunk to 1/3 Acre...and the Garden is slightly overgrown due to neglect....thats one Hell of a climbdown....I suspected something was amiss with her Thread so perhaps I was not so premature in my comments.

Lucky she had not confirmed that order for enough 10:10:20 to apply to 3 Acres. Very Happy

Perish the thought....She reminds me of an old TV series "Green Acres" with Zsa Zsa Gabor and Eddie Albert { if anyone is to young to remember it ask your Parents}....She would be Zsa Zsa's double....
