I recently visited Webbs of Wychbold garden centre outside birmingham uk and saw a large selection of plug plants called "Plug U Grow". These are small flower plants about 1" long with 24 to a tray.
They have also "Kinder Plants" about 2" long. the idea is that you pot them on and plant them out when all danger of frost is over. they are all annuals and the "Plug U Grow" are £Stg 2.99 for 24 in a tray.

Appreciate knowing if they can be purchased in Ireland

That Webbs of Wychbold garden centre is quite impressive, isn't it?
It seems Hennessy's Garden Centre in Kilkenny stock the "Kinder plants", so they possibly may stock the "Plug U Grow" plants as well.
