I was up before the Lark and by 7am I was painting the Fencing....leveling an outside grass Bank or trying to....Mowed the Lawn....Weeding...constructed new Fencing...made a Timber Flower Box and into use straight away...before finally calling it a Day.
It would be interesting to hear how others spent their Day... |

Mowed the lawn, earthed up spuds, removed lower branches from a maple, finished weeding the area around my new veg garden, pruned back a Euoymous and flamed off weed seedlings with the weed wand (great invention).
Have just been on a quick slug hunt and now will set alarm for early bus down to Bloom. |

Last week I heard from a friend that a neighbour of his was dismantling a 3 in 1 Childrens Garden Play unit....Swingsx2....Climbing Ropes....Slide...and was throwing it in the Skip { no further use for it and to much trouble to Advertise it } I hightailed it to his House and 1hr later was returning home a very happy Bunny.
Over the past few Days I stripped it down and applied a generous coating of Wood Preserve and replaced all the screws and Bolts and Today I assembled it back together { it was Weather beaten and the bolts were well rusted } to say I'm chuffed with myself is an understatement....my Neighbour remarked " If you fell into Cow Dung you'd come out smelling of Roses "
Being in the right place at the right time sure paid off... |

I harvested one of my compost bins and used the compost on one of the floor beds. I was pleased with the compost. It turned out quite well. |

Today I purchased a load of plants and left them ready to plant tomorrow due to the bad Weather here in the NW...later I found out that I had to go to Dublin tomorrow for a few Days so not wanting to leave them til' I returned I decided to face the Wind and Rain and get them into the Ground....
Dressed up in Waterproof Clothing I got stuck in and worked through Monsoon Rainfall getting soaked in the process....finally after 2hrs I stood up chuffed that I did'nt let a shower stop me....suddenly the friggen Sun comes out and remained so for the rest of the Evening....I guess the Creator loves a Joke.
Hope your Weather was kinder to you.... |

Being pleased with ones self is a common perk amongst Gardeners...we all seem to be a happy lot...maybe its being outdoors.... |

Plus I made compost out of waste vegetable matter. I get to enjoy the outdoors and save money. |

3rd Day of Drizzling misty Rain...great for the plants but a big NO NO for the Gardener...this Morning before the drizzle I began weeding but soon had to stop before being bitten to death by the midges...
Began erecting a Picket Fence...rain stopped play....completed the 3in1 Garden unit...I had painted 2 guard rails and now both dry I was able to finally erect them and finish that project in the drizzle...
Lastly...I recently became a Grandfather for the 3rd time and the newcomer { Baby Girl...Meya } had to have her Name added to the " Garden Playground Membership" along with Jessie and Aaron...thats done now and drying out...
Still no break in the Clouds but the Drizzle has stopped so perhaps play can resume...

Had 1 or 2 Showers here this morning but its picking up nicely now and I was planning doing a little mowing....but her indoors sez " you cannot do unnecessary servile work on Sundays"....cant get it across to her that its relaxation to me and not work...tomorrow we are having visitors for a week and I bet its raining in the morning but when the guests arrive it will be Sunny...and Grassy...
The Farmers are passing the House all Day in their Tractors and not a word said but all Hell breaks loose if I dare use the word "Lawnmower" ...anyone else got that problem or am I alone... |
