Hi all,

Just turned 45, made redundant, skint and with a bad back to boot.

Not my first time gardening, but a long time and in Southern Spain.
With my back I am thinking raised beds 6" or 8"
Cardboard, Kitchen stuff, woodash, leaves etc...

Will be looking for labour and cost saving methods and found a few here
already so thought I'd join up.
Anyhoo
Looking forward to your posts and hope to post a few pics and share any ideas
I come across.

Matt

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum. My back isn't all that bad but I have dodgy knees so I'm putting in raised beds this year. I'm putting them at waist height so there'll be no bending at all.

Best if luck with the gardening, you should find plenty of help in here.

Welcome, Mattman. Hope you enjoy the crack on here. Loads of good info, too.
I've made my new raised beds up to 360mm high and its a good help with the bending especially when weeding.

Welcome Mattman to the forum.I have one raised bed and I am growing potatoes and broad beans in it.I had to spend two hours in two days weeding it because I let all the weeds grow.Don't make the same mistake as me.
