Hi all, looking for input/ ideas / suggestions as I'm looking to have a really impressive garden with year round colour/life..

I've attached some photos and a rough layout to the garden. The soil is nearly 100% sand... So any suggestions on plants that like this soil type would be welcome.

Not sure if I should put water feature in.. does it add much to the garden?

I've planted a few Irish cherrys along the drive and griselinias along the inside wall.

Do you prefer a big lawn and small flower beds or should I aim for large flower beds and shaped lawn.

Ill add better pics soon...

Wow! 100% sand. That would have the makings of a fabulous arid garden. No lawn! No flower beds!

Have you kids? Because having children in the garden will influence the way you'll go.

Start by making a list of what you want first.

e.g. sitting out area(s)
greenhouse?
etc,
etc,

Then, what direction is south?

Are you going to tarmac the drive?

Let us know what style of garden you are thinking of? For instance, I'm not a lawn and flower person myself; there are other ways to make an interesting garden. But each to their own.
