Hi All, I have a rosemary plant that has been outside in a 3 gallon pot for the last 2 years without problems. Recently, I've noticed that the leaves of two out of the three main stems has started to brown and fall off. The remaining stem seems fine and has a few small purple flowers at the top. I've checked it for infestation (mites, etc) and it seems fine. I also move it around the garden periodically to maximize the sunlight it receives and cover it in fleece on particularly cold nights (such as we're having at the moment).
My suspicion is that it may be root bound and I'm wondering if anyone has trimmed the root ball of a rosemary plant and put it back in the same pot. Will this work and when is the best time to do it? I intend to trim back the top growth as well (although in fairness most of it looks dead anyway). |
