Hello All
New lawn, laid grass seed about 2 1/2 weeks ago and has started to germinate - can see plenty of green shoots appearing. The recent mild weather has helped.
Some heavy frost is due in the next few days. Will this damage the new grass and if so is there anything i can do to minimise the damage e.g. cover it at night (small enough area that i can do with no fuss).
Many thanks. |

As with any seedlings, covering it with horticultural fleece will help. However, if it gets very cold, don't be surprised if they die! You may have to try again in the spring |

i think the worst that will happen is the grass will be stunted but should be fine by the spring i wouldnt worry.as tippben says if you can cover it with fleece without too much effort it will certainly help |
