I planted parsnips in my polytunnel back in January and now they are fierce bushy. I men they are up to my waist and somewhat overcrowded.
I'm not sure if I should trip them back or leave as is. Can anyone advise?
Many thanks! |

I would leave alone when picking/pulling pul every alternate on to allow for more space between plants, did you thin them out earlier in the season. |

Mine are the same. Huge amount of growth. First time with parsnips and hadn't expected that. I'm leaving them well alone. Some of the foliage is dying off naturally now. So I'll pick them as I need them. Sowed gladiator and pulled one last week. Took half an hour to get it out. 16 inches Pull one up and see how they doing ... |
