And it may even be Solanum Crispum "Glasnevin" which is a nice thought that one of the most popular varieties was bred in our own Botanic Gardens. |

Isn't this described as a climber? I've seen it for sale in many garden centres. It's a really good looking plant when in full bloom

An interesting question Michael.....I have just consulted that wonderful book An Irish Florilegium, and it seems the origin of Solanum Crispum Glasnevin is uncertain, the first written record being in 1906, when several plants of this name were sent by the Botanic Gardens to Bristol.
So I'm no wiser, but I really enjoyed browsing through Wendy Walsh's wonderful illustrations. I hope you're familiar with this book, it's so beautiful. |
