WOW,

May 1st, the official start to the Irish summer. It's sooooo cold and windy.

Everything in the garden is struggling to get ahead and they are all in raised beds under fleece. There is some growth (and thankfully no frost) but it is so slow this year. Even the Tomatoes are struggling in the plastic LIDL greenhouse.

I have just given in and re-lit our wood stove. Just TOOOOO miserable to be sitting without a fire today. Never mind, tomorrow should be sunny ! Imagine that !

I ventured out to the garden this morning to pull back the fleece and earth-up the spuds and found this lovely group of summer guests snuggled between the sack of compost and the side of the raised bed.

However thier vacation ended abruptly, may they RIP.
