I am looking to put myself forward as an administrator on our local Freecycle site. I have been doing a bit of reading up on them and notice that a new group set up a few years ago called Freegle in response to a few of the organisers not liking the way that Freecycle were controlling local groups. It looked amicable enough with Freecycle wishing them well when Freegle was set up.
I have noticed that Freegle have got a local branch here too and seems to have 200 more members than Freecycle. Would anyone have any more information or advice about which way the popularity is going with these two? I suppose the obvious choice would be to join them both (which I have done) but the admin post is only available at Freecycle. Just as a note, I advertised my cooker on Freecycle and someone collected it within hours, so no complaints there..... _________________ if you are interested in raised vegetable beds and veggie growing I have a new website - raisedbeds.net We're busy on social networking too and have over 12,000 members in the group. |
