if planting a container now including winter pansies /violas etc would you use fertiliser and would you feed regularly with tomato feed as in summer?

It is not necessary to feed container plants during the winter, as fresh potting compost will have all the necessary nutrients. But start feeding with a liquid feed when growth starts in spring.Also regularly deadhead to keep the plants tidy.
