This is probably a stupid question but when a basil plant flowers should I cut the flowers off? And what is the benefit of this... |

If the plant is flowering, cutting the flowers off MAY help to encourage more leaf growth. Basil flowers and stalks are perfectly edible- not much use in salads, or garnish, but perfectly ok in tomato sauces/soups, pasta dishes, stuffing fish etc. |
