Hi fellow gardeners,
Have any of you noticed that autunm is here already. The leaves are already turning yellow, and I was in Dublin city and there were lots of leaves on the streets. My summer bedding pots are fading already and they are usually in full bloom untill the end of September.
I have also noticed that there is a reall feel of autunm especially mornings and evenings.
Anyone else noticed anything in your own areas or gardens?

Everything about the end of August is autumnal....the light, the smell in the air. We are obsessed with calling August "summer" when it is really the beginning of Autumn ! |

I know what you are saying Sive, but I still think that plants are fading a lot earlier than in previous years. Maybe we didn't get a proper summer, but any of the gardeners I know are saying the same that plants are fading earlier than usual!
I am just hoping that it does not mean a hard winter! |

I think it's a very mixed picture really....I have hardy geraniums and astrantias blooming unusually well just now..for the second time. In fact this has been the best year I've had for astrantias. Who knows what lies ahead ! Get the thermal underwear out.....just in case ! |
