advice on repotting aloe vera

Could you advise me on what type of soil to use for repotting an aloe vera?

..or cactus compost from your local garden centre, if they don't have the John Innes. I have used an ordinary houseplant compost from the supermarket too, with some sharp sand mixed through it. The important thing is that the soil be free-draining as well as nutritious.
