Great to see Diarmuid Gavin win a Gold medal at this years 2011 RHS Chelsa Flower Show for Irish Sky Garden
On the ground the garden is green and full of water, with 25 pools, flowing or reflecting the craft above.
The garden was sponsored by Fáilte Ireland & Cork City Council

I believe the garden may end up in Cork city, for everyone to enjoy and marvel. Its bound to be a tourist attraction, so a great investment from Cork County Council and Failte Ireland.
Well done to all

Can you imagine if Chelsea had been whipped by the same storms we endured yesterday ?
The infamous British obsession with Health and Safety would have forced a quick landing I imagine.

Yes the pod was forced down partly yesterday due to winds. Crane safety is not to be messed with, the consequences of an error can be catastrophic.

It must be a great view from up there though, birds eye view of Chelsea and the river as well as all those reflecting pools in Dairmuid's Garden.
There should be jumping water jets from pool to pool operational today.

I see the Daily Telegraph have won best in the show for the 3rd year running. I think the other golds are far better. To me it looks like a wall with sewer pipes coming out and a few raised beds.

i'm usually left cold by the show gardens in these shows. the urban gardens look great, with nary a square centimetre for the tools required to maintain a garden, let alone a wheelie bin...
