I am getting two plum trees as a gift for my bro-in-law who lives just outside Fermoy. The trees will be planted in a large walled garden next to a few apple trees. The varieties are Victoria, Czar, Damson, Opal. Thanks for the help! |

I'm a huge fan of Victoria....I know it's very commonly planted, but I adore the flavour of Victoria plums, and you never see them for sale in the supermarkets. Delicious ! |

Victoria will do quite well in a walled garden in Fermoy, just be aware that it is subject to silver leaf disease which will kill it if it gets infected. Avoid it by pruning in August /September. it is not grown commercially.
