the bill for removing the knotweed from the two main london olympic sites was predicted to go as high as £70m.

that's not a typo.

i remember reading an article about jnw in which a research ins in england was experimenting with some type of moth or other insect that lives exclusively on the weed unfortuneately i cant recall where i read the article but hopefully it will come to a sucsessful conclusion as on the banks of the blackwater where i live you cant even .see the river during the summer.

Most interesting......I was musing on the whole issue yesterday and wondering how the plant hadn't clothed the whole of Japan by now.

I haven't had much luck with Wexford County Council......and anyone I'm referred to seems to have slightly different opinions as to responsibility. I didn't realise that the landowner owns the road verge in some cases, for instance.
You need time and dogged persistence, it seems, to get anywhere with state bodies.
