I have an old gooseberry bust that I transplanted today.
It suffers from some kind of red, scabby rust.
Are there treatments for this and what works best? _________________ My Garden blog

this disease is called gooseberry cluster cup rust and needs a second host plant to propagate itself (usually sedges I think). Pick off all the infected fruit and leaves and bury or burn them. You may get a recurrence next year but not as bad. You can definitely control it by picking off the infected fruit and leaves.
