Hello.
Just joined.
Lawn and flower growing interests.
I mow with a push mower, scarify witha rigid rake, airate with a fork,
and still have a few dry patches giving me grief. Planning some patch
repair activities soon. No.2 grass seed is yer only man.
Interested in getting a bee-friendly garden of flowers going.
Some seed coming along nicely.
Poached-egg flowers not the best this year. 6 out of 12 still holding their own.
(Wood Pigeon scrapped a few searching for nest material)
French Marigolds - 2 out of 15 sprouted.
Tagetes - slightly better 12 out of 30. Planting more.
Delphinium - 0 out of 6.
Lavendar - better result there - growing well.
Lobelia...no joy for first 15 - had to go again.
Just laid the seed for alyssum - hoping for better (any) result in 2 weeks.
Ox eye daisies showing signs of life - just hope better than the poached-eggs!
Very disappointing in comparison to last year. Didnt have as many failures last year.
Greenhouse off limits for a while. A Robin decided to build her nest in an empty
plastic flower pot and has settled in to hatch at least 4 eggs.
Wood pigeon in tree beside greenhouse... nest in that too! |
