I sowed chantenay red carrots and ailsa craig onions the first weekend in April (2/3 April). When should I expect to see them make an appearance?
I thought after the fine weather the last couple of weeks I should see something. Surely 100% failure would be unusual or am I just really impatient?

onions take up to four weeks to germinate and carrots over three weeks assuming the temperature and moisture are ideal. Pay special attention over the next 10 days that slugs do not attack them as the seedlings are emerging.
