When you plant a tree is it ok to put some decorative stone around it over the soil to mark it out a bit rather than just grass or soul. I am planting a conifer soon

rather than put your soul there , you are very spiritual put a small stake and tie the tree on to it. It will save the tree from being blwn over or walked on and it may be necessary to put a wire shield around it .
