Hello,
I'm based in Kerry so the record -11 we suffered in December has killed many plants in my garden.
I have a large - 15 year old Dicksonia in a sheltered spot. While all the growth was killed in 2010 - it did recover by September sending out about 4 very small ferns. I'm worried that it won't have the strength to recover this year...
Also is it possible the cold has affected Camellias? I have some very sorry-looking ones which are losing their leaves -
Any opinions?

When you say four little ferns, where are these located because ferns do not multistem
This winter was equally harsh so small ferns would find it hard to survive. _________________ "But no one puts flowers

Hi Protein,
Yes you are right - it was 4 small croziers. These were all killed by the cold - so my question is will there be regrowth this year? Also have you ever heard of replanting a new fern into the bole of a dead fern?
