Folks, Last year I dug up the shady side of my garden as it was totally overgrow with weeds, this was late in the summer and I probably didn't give it as much love and care as it needed (the other side is great)
Anyway I planted bulbs of narcissus (?) which bloomed and now seem to be dying off - what I want to know is can I dig these up, and store them so I can completely dig over the flower beds again, they beds are quite compacted from my dogs, (I will be screening them off this year) and there is large cracks running through the soil.
I need to dig them completely and add lots of compost to the soil before sowing anything suitable for a partial shady area.
Or is it too early to be digging them out?

Sorry for long winded post.

I would wait until the foliage has all died down. From what I understand, this is the time the bulb is taking in nutrients to store up for the next flowering season!
