Well, thats the first of them in.
A terraced bank built up on seaweed, manure and soil backfill into last years auxilliary potato ridge all by hand.
This bed will support Jerusalem Artichoke and Sea Kale plants (which were bloody hard to germinate)
Amazed at how much time an effort was saved using my new toy - a Chillington heavy duty hoe, did the digging, 90% of the stone removal, edging and backfill.
The tool is that effective that I am already opening up new beds from under scrub.
Just did a review of the tool on the blog, highly recommended particularly in the west or other rocky soil IMHO.
If it were not for the advert on this site I would never have found them - so thats good, and supporting a company that supports this forum - thats cool.
More pics on a step by step guide to the bed as always at the blog - link in sig, its a good start to the year.
