Hi,
Having dug through the soil where I had strawberries in a large container from last year I have discovered quite a few small white slugs/grubs.Obviously I dont intend growing any fruit or veg in this soil this year now but would it be okay to put some flowers into it?

i feel sorry for you but I think that you have the dreaded vine weevil which is very hard to get rid of. Take out all the strawberry plants and burn. Check any other plants especially those in pots or containers. the weevil likes peaty composts or soft wooded plants. There are plenty threads on this pest on line.

Checked photos online and it looks like the vine weevil larvae.Had checked other pots before I came to the infested one and they seem clear. If I have them in one pot are they definitely in the others too or could they be confined to the one? Please say yes!!
