What a great discovery this site is, i'll introduce myself with my wee story of why i was looking up willow online, I have a piece of land where i am going to start building soon..it is close to a river and there are lots of willow around our area but my own place is bare from reclamation work done by my Father about ten years ago, no hedges left and just too open and i'm looking for (almost) instant cover So after reading some great posts here, about getting a willow hedge going, i proceeded to take a load of cuttings from two different types in my area and have now planted about 400 12"cuttings and some longer cuttings, up to 4ft long, hopefully they will take, the ground is fairly wet,so i believe they will!! Thanks for the advice..and happy digging!! _________________ Where dips the rocky highland........ |
