Hi,
In recent days I have done a lot of research into the Thuja Green Giant. I live in a very open area with 3/4 of an acre, winds are quite high during the winter months.
this cedar seems to tick all the boxes, easy maintenance, fast growth rate, hardy and a great wind breaker.
Sorry, I would like to ask you recommendation also, green giant or green leylandii.
Do you know if green giant is easily sourced, I have only checked the web for on-line purchases and have not rang any nurseries just. |

I have not seen Thuja 'Green Giant' in Ireland yet so it is not proven here as far as I am concerned. I would find it difficult to recommend either of these plants. You would be better investing in Beech (Fagus sylvatica). Fits in better, better for wildlife. |
