Would anyone know where I could purchase cooking pear trees?
I am finding it very hard to get any information about them. |

the best varieties of cooking pears are : Williams Bon Chretein
Buerre Clairgeu
Pitmaston Duchess
Vicar of Winkfield
Catillac
St Germain
hope this is helpful. I remember well when I was asked this question about nearly 60 years ago.

cooking pears are treated like eating pears, they are slower to start fruiting and fruit needs to be thinned out where too many fruits set.
