Could you tell me if there are any restrictions on importing Calea ternifolia either plant or seed in to Ireland? My academic background is in psychology, and calea is known to promote lucid dream (the phenomenon of waking up aware inside your dreams)
It is sold quite legally for this purpose in capsules, but when I went looking for the plant and the seeds it turned up in (seedier, pardon the pun) corners of the internet, on sites also selling marijuana seeds etc. Things derived from plants tend to get the thumbs up legally as long as they go through pharmaceutical, companies first, but treating yourself with natural medicine, especially if it an effect on brain chemistry, seems to be frowned on (e.g. 5htp, John's worth pulled from the shelves recently).
Hoping you can clear this up, or suggest where I might find further information.

The seeds are legal to bring into the country same as cannabis seeds. Plants may be a different matter.
Is Calea ternifolia the plant you smoke which they claim allows you to meet and speak with your ancient forefathers within a dream _________________ 'Unemployment is capitalisms way of getting you to plant a garden'.

Thanks for your reply, Cooler. People generally make a tea out of it, but it may work with some form of vaporiser.
The effects would vary from culture to culture, or person to person. Lucid dreaming is where you realise inside the dream that it is a dream. Ideally you stay within the dream. There's a film about it called waking life, but a good analogy is the matrix, if you've seen that film.
The seeds are definitely legal to bring in to the country, so? |
