I had a huge rabbit population at my old garden in susse england, though i've hardly seen any in tipperary. The most (cost) effective solution I found was to lay chicken wire on the perimiter. It has to be buried 6" deep at the fence line, and spread about a foot outside, as rabbits will run to the fence, then start to dig. This should leave about 2' of wire above ground. My local co'op sells it at a euro per metre- 50 metre rolls. A couple will always manage to get in, but then they will be trapped. I bought an air rifle, and did dawn and dusk patrols- there was a bit of damage occasionally, but the rabbit stew made up for it! |
