I've a good few tomato plants on the go at the minute..i bought a indoor growing garden recently and im amazed how fast things are progressing. im just wondering when it would be safe to place potted tomato plants in the cold glasshouse?

I have lost tomato plants by putting them in the glass house too early so if you have the space, it would be best to leave it untill the end of the month. What varities have you grown?

I know where you are at Nozebleed - you are buzzing with excitement and wanting to get growing. Patience is a virtue at this time of year. There are still plenty of frosts yet to come so take no chances and hold off. You dont want to see all your hard work go down the pan. I am growing 4 varieities of tomatoes indoors at the moment - Alicante, Moneymaker, Country Taste and San Marzano 3. They will not be moved to my cold greenhouse until at least St Paddy's day and that depends on the weather we are getting at the time. In my cold greenhouse at the moment I have onion sets, garlic, onion seed, leek seed and parsley and mint seed. I am sowing the more hardy things at this time of year in the cold greenhouse. Good luck with the toms ! Smile
