after all the daydreaming about it i finally got stuck in, first thing was to get the grass cut and then clear away the hay(a lot of work with a pike) next thing was to get the ground ploughed and harrowed, 11 different types of apple trees went in next(from seedsavers), then the real work began putting up the polytunnel the hardest part was getting everything square and level followed by digging in the anchor plates which had to go down 70cm but under my lovely stone free topsoil the subsoil is hardpacked stoney clay a nightmare to dig,the hoops were easy as were the base rails and side rail,i had a week of beautifull weather and i nearly got it finished but its been nothing but wind and rain since then and trying to organise help for the cover and get it on a calm dry day is going to be hard.

That looks really amazing heno...there's nothing more satisfying than seeing a new garden taking shape. You've already achieved a huge amount....and what a wonderful poly-tunnel you'll have when it's all finished. I think you will end up with your own little piece of paradise there, good luck with it.

The polytunnel has plenty of room in it too. Looking good.

That's looking good.
I like the way the ESB have provided a focal point in your new garden.
Seriously, it looks good. Keep us up to date with pics of progress. We're gluttons for pics!

thanks all for the good wishes, the tunnel is 48x20ft and the reason why it is located under the esb wires is that the field has been planted with oak and silver birch and they had to leave a 20mtr wide strip unplanted under said wires, unfortunately the weather has prevented me from finishing it
