following on from the previous post regarding apples, i have an apple tree in my garden which i wish to propagatem, i was planning to take whippy pencil thick cuttings and grafting them onto apple stock which are normally on sale in Lidl, cheap and plentiful, will my cuttings take successfully to any other apple rootstock. Also can more than one cutting be grafted onto the rootstock ata tiome as i heard the hit rate to be low, around 10%?

I recently subscribed to this group http://www.ciderworkshop.com/ and also used this site http://www.cider.org.uk/ as a great source of references on all things apple.

Have you checked out youtube for some videos on grafting? One guy stephenhayesuk as hundreds of videos and several cover grafting. There are several techniques but what you are suggesting should work ok.
