I harvested my main crop spuds(Kerrs Pinks) recently and found lots of rotten spuds, most turned to a smelly mush in my hands. Just wondering if anybody knows what could have caused this? The plants were sprayed for blight throughout the summer whenever there was a warning.
Thanks

most likely is blight , but like everything else in the garden it could be soft rot or Pink Rot. If there is blackening on the skin then it is blight. Some tubers under the same stalk can be affected while others remain blight free. Some diseases can come on the tuber after Blight has first infected. Even though you sprayed often you just could have missed a blight period by a day or two. However I would still say irt is Blight as the variety Kerr's Pink is particularly prone to Blight.
