I have a very boggy and rocky garden but want to have bulbs like crocus, lily and foxtail lily grow in a nice mass planting. Do people bank them up on high ground and cover them to prevent deer from digging them up? If so, do you have any solutions for a successful naturalization of them as I don't want to repeat plant and lose too many to the foraging critters and the elements.

Very few bulbs will survive in boggy ground. You may have some chance on higher ground but deer??? I would say they would love Lilies.
