Finally, received my bulbs from Holland today and I felt like it was Christmas come early, lol. Very well packaged, in paper bags according to variety with straw both inside each bag and around the bottom of the cardboard box container. ......
Only one thing, instead of getting 50 crocus sativus, I have 25 only plus 25 of a new variety of crocus. Not going to complain however, as the latter will make an interesting and fragrant suprise........
Back to the dirt and wellies tomorrow.......

Hi Sive,
I avoid it, even on the date, lol, ( blatant commercialism ) but the simple things in life are the best, eh? You know, friends, the beauty of nature, a warm gesture and small blessings etc
Thanks God for the simple things you can't put a price on.
Yep enjoyed planting about 300 bulbs in a raised bed, which included Glory of the Snow, Iris Reticulata, Scilla Siberica and about another 70 or so in containers, including Crocus Sativus, autumn crocus, Camassia, Liriope Muscari and the so called tree Lily ( it's big ). Just another 100 or so to plant now and then I am done.

You'll have to show us all the results in the spring.....it sounds as if you'll have an amazing display....and something to look forward to when the days start to stretch again. |
