I saw what looked like a Blue Mason Orchard bee (Osmia lingnaria ) on my purple lupins recently. It had a blue stripey abdomen. Blue Masons are kept by fruit/vegetable growers to pollinate orchards/allotments.
Has anyone else come across a blue bee going native in coastal suburbia or wherever? Was just wondering how many if any blue bees are there either domestically or else in the wild here in Ireland?
