Is it possible to dig up one of 2 apple trees? I have two trees side by side in the garden..but one has not fruited this year. i was going to dig around them for my new veg plot bu now i fear i might have to dig both up!!! horrible job. Is is nescessary? Would you guy's just leave them there?

If there is no room to extend the vegetable garden then it is OK to dig up the apple trees and transplant or replant them elsewhere in the garden but not just now. Wait till November or December and move them with as much soil attached to the roots as possible. Do it when the soil is dry and plant firmly and re-stake. You could still have apples next year.
