I was at the Navan Centre in Armagh this week.

They are planting veggie beds with crops from the early Iron age/early christian period.....I was wondering if anyone could identify some of the plants...just to see how authentic their planting was...

I need a better picture to identify these plants and it could be a very interesting picture.

It was an interesting visit.

I'm having a bit of bother getting my editor working (things are not quite back to normal since the hard drive crashed) I have put them on photobucket for now until I get the picture editor working) I only took the one pic of the veggie bed so It's a bit of a challenge. I should have asked when I was there but I was too busy watching the women make a fire outside to cook their meat in flattened bread. They stayed in character all through the visit....http://www.armagh.co.uk/Navan-Fort.aspx

right click over the photo and select View Image. You get a larger version of the image, this site seems to shrink photos.

Or click http://www.gardenplansireland.com/forum/files/navan_centre_vegetable_bed_2_310.jpg
