We went up the Blackwater on our boat from Youghal to Villierstown a few years back and every 100 yards, there were Egrets on either side of the river.

We were told later {I don't know whether it was true or not} that it was the first yeat the egrets had come back to the Blackwater. Beautiful river by the way.

We've canoed down it since, as well, but we didn't see as many egrets as that first year.
