Brioche with saffron
Preparation time : 20 minutes
Cooking time : 6-8 minutes
Ingredients :
3 dl of milk
50 grams of baker's yeast
800 grams flour
200 grams butter
250 grams powder sugar
Salt
2 grams of saffron
2 eggs
Preparation :
Melt the butter in a pot, add the milk and leave it aside to cool.
Mix the yeast and the ground saffron in some milk, mix with the lukewarm milk, and add, in the same order, mixing with a wooden spoon, sugar, salt, half of the flour, eggs, and the rest of the flour.
Knee the dough directly on the tabletop, make it thick and put it apart and a warm place. When the dough has doubled in volume, break it, and form long ribbons, to be arranged in the desired form.
Paint with beaten egg to brown it, add raisins or almonds on top, and cook in a pre-heated oven (225°) for 6 to 8 minutes.
