Not sure where to place this post but here goes!
I have a profusion of mushrooms (or are they toadstools?), in my grass (hardly a lawn!
I've no idea what they are and they appear most years. Of more importance - what are they and are they safely edible?
I've included a photo here and hope someone can put me wise!

HI,not sure if this is edible, but when in doubt leave it alone. We get lots of these in our garden and leave them to their own devises,we call them the fairy mushrooms and tell the children to treat them with respect and we will be blessed with luck. The children say they are the fairy tents for when they come to visit as we only get them at a certain time and then they vanish.
Anyway there is a book you can get in the library which will let you know what it is and wheather it is edible and where it is most commonly found...

Looks like some form of "inocybe asterospora". I get loads of these things on the grass under my birch tree.
Poisonous, yes, so as Blondie says, save them for the Fairies.
