i have some butternut squash plants starting to produce fruit .plenty of male and female flowers but have noticed a good few female flowers with the ovary turning yellow and falling off before the flower opens.any advice greatly appreciated |

this is quite normal for squashes, the plant will eventually produce a flower that will be pollinated. The temperature and humidity needs to be right and the there is a need for bee activity as well.
