What types of materials contain Phosphates and Potash that could be added to a compost mix or do they have to be purchased as chemicals ?

as both Phosphates and Potassium are major elements in plant nutrition both are present in plant stems leaves and roots. there is usually a reserve of them in most soils to sustain most crops. However the elements that are used up by a harvested crop of fruit or vegetables has to be replaced by compost from the compost heap as the soil itself may not be releasing the elements in sufficient quantities. Adding major nutrients like Phosphates and Potassium in the form of 0 10 20 can give a huge boost to soils that are known to be low in those elements.
